Hi, I'm Laura! I lived overseas for 23 years running both a non-profit and a photography business. Teaching and traveling has given me a unique perspective on what you ACTUALLY need to know to take better photos.
My approach to teaching is grounded in hands-on experience, encouraging students to apply their knowledge in real-world situations that they're likely to encounter on their travels. To me, photography is a powerful tool for both personal artistic expression and cultural understanding. Telling the story of your travels visually will both enhance your enjoyment on the trip as well as allow you to re-live it for years to come. I want my students to see beyond the viewfinder and create images that resonate with beauty and authenticity.
